WHO ARE WE?
Imagine walking through Patagonia, surrounded by mountains that whisper stories of ice and time. Here, every rock holds a history millions of years old, every valley carved by ancient glaciers holds secrets that transform our way of seeing the world.
We are Erráticos del Sur, an educational tourism company specializing in geology. We create experiences that combine tours, excursions, and training for tourists, students, and professionals, based on the observation and interpretation of the Earth from the perspective of geology and other sciences. The company was founded by Gonzalo Amigo Pisk, a geologist with a master's degree in Antarctic Sciences with a focus on Glaciology. He has worked on scientific research on glaciers and their associated environments in Patagonia and Atacama (Chile). He currently works as a geotourism guide in Torres del Paine and Puerto Natales.
Our name comes from the erratic boulders, those colossal rocks that ice tore from the mountains and deposited on the steppe, marking the landscape of Última Esperanza. During the Quaternary, and especially during the Last Ice Age (between 120,000 and 18,000 years ago), glaciers shaped this land, leaving behind these formations that are a testament to the power of nature.
Ice has been the architect of Patagonian geography, and we want you to discover this hidden identity beneath your feet. We invite you to be part of this story, to learn while you explore, and to transform your trip into an experience of knowledge, environmental awareness, and love for this unique territory. Southern Erratics: more than a tour, a way of understanding the Earth.
